Player Story
Emerging all-rounder Madeline Penna is a young gun with a bright future ahead.
A powerful athlete with match-winning abilities, Penna played every game in her first season as a Striker in WBBL|06.
She showcased her big-hitting ability with a crucial 56* from just 33 deliveries against Hobart at Hurstville to steer the Strikers to victory in a Player of the Match performance.
Penna struck a second WBBL half-century the following summer all while maintaining an impressive strike-rate beyond 120 across both seasons.
The canny leg-spinner has also proven her worth with the ball in the past, snaring best figures of 4-20 in only her second WBBL appearance during her previous stint with the Melbourne Stars in WBBL|05.
Penna’s x-factor with bat or ball makes her a valuable asset in the Strikers’ squad.
