Since joining the Adelaide Strikers ahead of BBL|09, Matthew Short has become an integral part of the Strikers squad and one of the best players in the entire Big Bash League.
A powerful opening batter who often also opens the bowling with his handy off-breaks, Short is the captain of the Adelaide Strikers.
Short had a breakout season in BBL|12 that saw him win the BBL Player of the Tournament Award after being the competitions leading runscorer and he followed that up the next season, again making the most runs and going back-to-back in the Player of the Tournament Award.
In BBL|13, Short became the first male player to win three consecutive Strikers MVP awards.
