Christmas Wonderland and New Year's Eve blockbuster headline Adelaide Strikers' action-packed BBL|16 season

The Adelaide Strikers are set to light up Adelaide Oval this summer, with a blockbuster BBL|16 fixture list featuring marquee match-ups, festive entertainment and the club’s iconic New Year’s Eve clash.

The fan-favourite New Year’s Eve showdown will once again take centre stage at Adelaide Oval, with the Strikers hosting the Melbourne Stars on December 31. A bumper crowd is expected as cricket fans flock to one of the KFC BBL’s most anticipated annual fixtures.

There will be plenty happening off the field too, with the return of the iconic post-match fireworks spectacular, family-friendly activations and exciting giveaways throughout the evening.

Adding to the festivities, the New Year’s Eve blockbuster will feature a performance from a headline music act, with the Strikers set to reveal the artist in the coming weeks.

The action-packed home schedule also includes a pre-Christmas clash against the Sydney Thunder on December 23, giving fans another opportunity to enjoy Big Bash cricket at Adelaide Oval during the festive season, just days after Australia and New Zealand meet in the Christmas Test.

SACA Members can continue the celebrations on December 23, with the Village Green remaining open following the Australia v New Zealand Christmas Test.

Located behind the western stands, the Village Green offers fans the opportunity to soak up the vibrant atmosphere, enjoy live entertainment and sample a wide range of food and beverage options while taking in all the Big Bash action.

Fans are encouraged to don their Santa hats and festive attire as Adelaide Oval transforms into a magical Christmas wonderland for the occasion.

Following the New Year’s Eve blockbuster, Adelaide Oval will continue to host a series of key fixtures, with the Strikers taking on the Melbourne Renegades on January 6 and the Hobart Hurricanes on January 12.

The club will then close out its regular-season home schedule against the Perth Scorchers on January 16 in the annual First Nations fixture. The match will celebrate culture, connection and community, with players participating in a traditional barefoot circle and gift exchange.

While fans can look forward to five matches at Adelaide Oval, the Strikers will also hit the road for several important away fixtures throughout the season.

The BBL|16 campaign begins against the Sydney Thunder at Manuka Oval on December 16 before a clash with the Melbourne Stars at the MCG on December 18.

The Strikers will then travel to Brisbane to face the Heat on December 28, take on the Sydney Sixers at Manuka Oval on January 3 and meet the Hobart Hurricanes at University of Tasmania Stadium in Launceston on January 9.

The Adelaide Strikers boast an incredible list of experienced veterans and emerging talent, with Matt Short, Alex Carey, Lloyd Pope, Liam Scott, Jason Sangha, Mackenzie Harvey, Thomas Kelly, Henry Thornton, Jerrssis Wadia and Tom Straker signed for next season.

The remainder of the Strikers' squad will be finalised in the coming months, with fans encouraged to keep an eye on the club's social media channels for further player announcements.

Fans can secure their seats early when pre-sale tickets go on sale on August 13, ahead of the general public ticket release and hospitality package on-sale on August 20.

With another exciting summer of Big Bash cricket ahead, supporters can also sign up now via the Adelaide Strikers membership website to secure their place at Adelaide Oval throughout BBL|16.
