Wolvaardt and Scott Crowned Strikers MVPs After Outstanding Seasons.

The Adelaide Strikers would like to congratulate Laura Wolvaardt and Liam Scott on being awarded the club’s WBBL and BBL Most Valuable Players following outstanding individual performances across WBBL|11 and BBL|15.

Wolvaardt once again set the tone at the top of the Strikers batting order, with an average of 44 proving crucial in establishing early innings momentum.

The South African star announced herself as a force early in the Strikers’ campaign, producing her highest score of the season in their home opener against the Melbourne Renegades with a composed, unbeaten 71.

She went on to score 264 runs across eight appearances before being recalled for South Africa’s white-ball series, bringing an early end to her WBBL|11 campaign.

Her season was complemented by an exceptional campaign from Darcie Brown, who finished as the Strikers’ leading wicket taker and placed second in MVP voting.

Wolvaardt’s maiden Strikers MVP award sees her etch her name onto the honour roll, bringing to a close Meagan Schutt’s remarkable run of three consecutive MVP seasons.

A season built on standout performances across competitions saw Liam Scott crowned the Strikers BBL Most Valuable Player, complementing his incredible domestic season, where he was named the Sheffield Shield Player of the Year.

Scott’s ability to make an impact with both bat and ball has made him a crucial part of the Strikers’ setup moving forward. His 310 runs and five wickets across 10 appearances highlight the value he brought to the side throughout the campaign.

His standout batting performance came on the road against the Hobart Hurricanes, where he smashed an unbeaten 91 from just 58 deliveries.

He finished the season with an average of 51.67 to cement his place as a key figure in the Strikers’ middle order.

Scott also played a strong role with the ball, including in the team’s New Year’s Eve victory, where he claimed Player of the Match honours for an economical spell of 2/12 from four overs.

The 25-year-old was also named in the BBL Team of the Tournament, further reinforcing his status as one of the competition’s standout all-rounders.
