The Adelaide Strikers are thrilled to announce that Liam Scott and Lloyd Pope have been named in the BBL|15's Team of the Tournament, as voted by the competition’s eight coaches.
All-rounder Liam Scott was named as 12th man in his first Team of the Tournament appearance after a breakout season, which saw him cement his place in the Strikers top four.
After just nine games in the previous three BBL seasons, the hard-hitting 25-year-old announced himself to the league, opening the season with 51 against the Sydney Sixers.
He followed up his hot start with 49 not out against the Sydney Thunder and 91 not out against the Hobart Hurricanes.
He finished the season with 310 runs at a strike rate of 139, coming second in the BBL|15 Player of the Tournament standings to overall winner Sam Harper from the Melbourne Stars.
His talents were not just limited to the bat, with Scott being named the Player of the Match on New Year's Eve after taking 2/12 from his four overs against the Brisbane Heat at Adelaide Oval.
Pope was named as the team’s specialist spinner after collecting 15 wickets across his 10 games, with an average of 19.07 and best figures of 4/23 against the Perth Scorchers.
The exciting spinner claimed multiple wickets in five games, finishing the regular season as joint fourth in the race for the Golden Arm.
It’s the second consecutive season the South Australian leggie has earned Team of the Tournament honours.
