The Adelaide Strikers could not hold on against the Melbourne Stars at the MCG, falling to a six-wicket defeat.
Cameron Boyce battled valiantly with the bat, while all-rounder Liam Scott led the fight with the ball, finishing with figures of 2/12.
The Strikers struggled to build partnerships throughout their innings. However, Boyce stood firm towards the end of the order, helping the score tick over, with Tabraiz Shamsi providing valuable support as the side was dismissed for 83.
Scott’s first wicket came from a magnificent diving catch by Mackenzie Harvey. His second followed in similar fashion, with Harry Manenti safely taking a chance from a deep hit in the outfield. Hassan Ali and Jamie Overton also claimed a wicket each.
Although the Strikers forced the Stars chase into the later overs, they were unable to stem the flow of runs as the Stars sealed a six-wicket victory.
The Strikers return home for their final game of the BBL|15 season, facing the Melbourne Renegades on January 17 at Adelaide Oval.
