The Adelaide Strikers were unable to overcome the Hobart Hurricanes at Ninja Stadium, falling short by 37 runs.
Liam Scott starred with the bat, playing a determined innings to finish unbeaten on 91*, his career-best in the BBL.
Lloyd Pope produced a brilliant highlight as his wrong’un clean-bowled Rehan Ahmed, while Mackenzie Harvey took a superb diving catch to dismiss Tim Ward off a Tabraiz Shamsi delivery. Luke Wood also chipped in, picking up two wickets during his spell.
Leading the bowling attack was Jamie Overton, finishing with figures of 2/13 from his two overs, helping to stem the run rate as the Hurricanes ended on 6/178.
Chasing the target, the Strikers lost early wickets, but Scott’s spirited knock helped the Strikers innings. He brought up his 50 with a superb cover drive that raced to the boundary, one of six fours he struck. He also cleared the rope with five magnificent sixes throughout his innings.
Despite his heroics, the Hurricanes total proved too much, and the Strikers fell short by 37 runs.
The team now faces a quick turnaround as they take on the Perth Scorchers in a First Nations match at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, January 11.
