The Adelaide Strikers were defeated by four wickets by the Hobart Hurricanes despite Darcie Browns heroics with the ball.
Brown took her joint career-best WBBL figures to almost help her side to victory but Danni Wyatt-Hogde's unbeaten half-century meant the Strikers fell short.
With rain about, the Strikers were sent out to bat by Elyse Villani under the lights in Hobart. Eleanor Larosa replaced Jemma Barsby as the sole change to Luke Williams' side, making her WBBL debut.
A slow start saw the Strikers slip to 3-33 but Tahlia McGrath (21) and Bridget Patterson (24) combined in the middle overs to steady the innings and help build momentum.
Amanda-Jade Wellington used this platform to boost her side up to 134 with a brilliant lower order cameo. She flayed the Hurricanes' bowlers to all parts of the ground with five boundaries across her innings. Wellington finished not out on 33 off 21 deliveries.
With the ball, Brown tore through the Hurricanes' top order, taking 4-16. This performance sees her become the leading wicket taker in WBBL|11 with eight wickets and claim the BKT Golden Arm Cap.
The seamer bowled Lizelle Lee and Nat Sciver-Brunt early in the innings, before sliding one across Nicola Carey to find her outside edge. She then dismissed Heather Graham. Her spell was crucial in keeping the Strikers in the game when it seemed they may falter.
With five overs to go, Sophie Ecclestone and Bridget Patterson combined to run out Villani and soon after, Wellington dismissed Rachel Trenaman.
However, Wyatt-Hodge proved to be the difference between the two sides, finishing 72* as her side claimed victory with two balls remaining.
The Strikers remain fifth in the table, level on points with the Melbourne Stars, who have a game in hand. The girls have a few days off before travelling to Perth to face the Scorchers on Saturday.
