Big Bash master blaster Chris Lynn is set for another full season with the Adelaide Strikers, signing a one-year deal that will see him available for finals.
Widely considered the greatest player in BBL history, Lynnsanity has become a favourite with Strikers fans since coming across from the Brisbane Heat in BBL|12.
Lynn’s BBL resume is simply unmatched, leading the competition in both runs and sixes, earning him the coveted Player of the Tournament in two separate seasons.
He has played an integral role since first donning the Striker’s blue, blasting 950 runs and clearing the rope 40 times, earning selection in the BBL|12 and BBL|13 Teams of the Tournament.
His ability to turn a game on its head was on full display for Hampshire in County Cricket’s T20 Blast when he blasted an unbeaten 108 from 51 balls.
Lynn also brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the side, playing an integral role in mentoring young players alongside coach Tim Paine.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back to Adelaide Oval and helping the team go deep into finals this year” Lynn said.
“We’ve got an exciting squad this season and I can’t wait to see what we can produce when we take to the field on December 17.”
His signing comes after explosive all-rounder Jamie Overton committed to the Strikers for a third consecutive year. The English paceman recently put his red-ball career on hold, paving the way for a full summer with the Strikers.
The announcements come after the Strikers secured the signatures of emerging trio Liam Scott, Jason Sangha and Mackenzie Harvey.
“We’re thrilled to have Chris returning to the Strikers as we strive for a deep finals campaign,” Coach Tim Paine said.
“While his batting exploits speak for themselves, his experience and leadership are equally invaluable to our emerging players within the squad. I think I speak for all Strikers fans in welcoming him back to Adelaide Oval - we can’t wait to see what he can produce in BBL|15.”
Further signings will be announced in the coming weeks.
