The Adelaide Strikers have bolstered their batting line-up for the upcoming Big Bash season, securing left-hander Mackenzie Harvey on a one-year deal for BBL|15.
Harvey, who joined the South Australian Men’s squad for the 2024/25 summer, was pivotal in the state's triumphant One-Day Cup campaign. His aggressive approach at the top of the order was instrumental in the South Australia Men securing the title, and the Strikers will be looking for him to bring that same explosive power to the Adelaide Oval.
South Australian Cricket Association List Manager Shaun Williams expressed his excitement about the signing, highlighting Harvey's all-round game.
"We are thrilled to have Harvey commit to the Strikers. We saw firsthand the impact he had with the South Australia Men last summer. His dynamic batting and ability to take the game on from ball one are huge assets, but it’s also his energy and high-level skill in the field that make him such an exciting T20 prospect.”
Harvey first burst onto the scene when he joined the Melbourne Renegades as a 17-year-old replacement player for Australian legend Aaron Finch in January 2018. He made his Big Bash debut during the BBL|08 season and was part of the club's maiden men's championship squad that year, famously defeating the Melbourne Stars in the final. Renowned for his fearless fielding, fans will remember an electric BBL|14 season, most notably for a stunning, one-handed screamer he took against the Scorchers at Marvel Stadium.
After officially signing with the club, Harvey said he was eager to make Adelaide his home and contribute to the Strikers' quest for a second title.
