Adelaide Oval is back in the spotlight for BBL|15, set to host both Adelaide Strikers’ marquee home games, the fan-favourite Pre-Christmas clash against the Melbourne Stars, and the iconic New Year’s Eve blockbuster.
The New Year’s Eve match promises fireworks both on and off the field. Last time the Strikers met the Brisbane Heat at Adelaide Oval, they posted a mammoth 251 runs, their second-highest total in BBL history, with Matt Short blasting 109 off just 49 balls and D'Arcy Short claiming a superb 4-15. Expect another explosive encounter when the two sides meet again under lights, with pyrotechnics and a live music act to be announced closer to the season.
A standout home fixture awaits on Tuesday, January 6, as the Strikers face off against the Sydney Thunder, marking Jason Sangha’s first appearance in Strikers blue against his former side.
Following what is shaping up to be a sellout Ashes Series, the Strikers will play for the Jason Gillespie Trophy in the First Nations Round against the Perth Scorchers on Sunday, January 11. After two tough losses to the Scorchers last season, the Strikers are hungry for redemption in what’s sure to be a lively contest.
The Strikers will wrap up the regular season at home with the inaugural ‘Member Thank You’ match against the Melbourne Renegades in what promises to be a fiery finale as Brendan Doggett returns to Adelaide Oval to face his former teammates.
Further signings will be announced in the coming weeks, ahead of the Strikers first game against the Sydney Sixers at the SCG on Wednesday, December 17.
