Strikers return on international duty

13 February 2020

Sophie Devine is set to return to Adelaide as one of New Zealand's key players.

Four Adelaide Strikers will play for their countries in warm-up games for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup at Karen Rolton Oval, starting on Sunday.

Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Thailand will be involved in five games across three days as the teams prepare for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Sophie Devine will be New Zealand’s captain, playing alongside Strikers captain Suzie Bates, Lauren Winfield is part of England’s squad and South Australia’s Megan Schutt will be a key bowler for Australia.

Allrounder Devine, who was the WBBL|05 Player of the Tournament after a record-breaking season with the Strikers, has been in outstanding form for the White Ferns. She made her maiden T20I century (105) this week against South Africa, adding to scores of 54 not out, 61 and 77 in the series.

Tickets for the warm-up matches are $10 for adults and free for kids.
