Woolworths Cricket Blast set to launch

11 October 2018

Karen Rolton Oval will host up to 300 kids, parents and centre coordinators on Sunday to launch SACA’s new Woolworths Cricket Blast kids’ programs, thanks to an exciting new partnership between Cricket Australia and the largest supermarket chain in Australia.

Set to be one of SACA’s biggest entry-level participation events of the season, Woolworths Cricket Blast is a fun and fast program, buzzing with the energy of Big Bash cricket.

The program teaches kids how to bat, bowl, field and catch, all while making new friends.

A number of Adelaide Strikers, Statewide Super SA Scorpions and Redbacks players will be in attendance to interact with kids and participate in a Q&A session.

Australian player Kane Richardson will appear, as well as Strikers batter Bridget Patterson.

Patterson is excited to be a part of introducing more children to cricket.

“It’s a lot of fun seeing the next generation of cricketers getting involved from such a young age,” Patterson said.

“I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to be part of events like the Woolworths Cricket Blast launch and to be considered a role model to these kids.”

The launch will include an information session for Cricket Blast centre coordinators, outlining the structure of the Junior Blaster and Master Blaster programs, plus a free sausage sizzle.

Participants can still register to attend here.
