Last time
Tahlia McGrath was the star with an unbeaten 65* to steer the Strikers to a convincing seven-wicket win over Perth earlier this season. Adelaide also tasted victory in its last meeting with the Stars back in WBBL|04 courtesy of an incredible individual performance from Sophie Devine, who struck 95 with the bat before claiming a WBBL club record 5/41 with the ball.

Talking point
Can the Strikers capitalise on their home ground advantage? Unless Adelaide earns the right to host any WBBL finals, this weekend will be the last time the Strikers feature at Karen Rolton Oval in WBBL|05. Only one team each weekend of the competition so far has managed back-to-back victories, including the Strikers at Allan Border Field late last month. Two wins at home this week would be a huge boost with only another six minor round matches to follow.

Stat attack
Captain Suzie Bates joined rare air last weekend by becoming just the eighth player in WBBL history to hit 1,500 Big Bash runs, inclusive of her time with the Perth Scorchers. Another special milestone is in sight for the Kiwi this weekend, who is now just 23 runs away from joining fellow Smash Sister Sophie Devine in notching 1,000 WBBL runs for the club. Devine (48) and Sarah Coyte (47) are also closing in on the 50-wicket mark in their WBBL journey.

Striker to watch – Bridget Patterson
Patterson has lifted her game to a new level in WBBL|05 and is arguably the club’s most improved player this season. She’s athletic and quick in the field - leading the way for outfield catches this season for the Strikers – and has produced several important innings at crucial times, including a career-high 57* in Adelaide’s win over Brisbane under lights last Saturday.

Danger player (Scorchers) – Meg Lanning
It’s an obvious call, but Scorchers captain Meg Lanning is the key wicket Adelaide will need cheaply on Saturday. The Australian skipper showed her match-winning capabilities under pressure last round in Perth’s DLS victory over the Renegades, smashing a six off the final ball in an unbeaten 44 from just 24 deliveries.

Danger player (Stars) – Lizelle Lee
Lee is one of the most powerful batters in the WBBL and will need to be kept under control in Sunday’s clash with the Stars. The South African is the third-highest runscorer of the season so far and has two WBBL tons to her name, including a 103* against the Scorchers last weekend, proving just how quickly she can take a game away at the top of the order.
