As part of the sponsorship, Vodafone will receive prominent branding on team apparel as well as fan engagement opportunities.
Adelaide Strikers General Manager Bronwyn Klei said: “Vodafone is an ideal partner for us. It is a strong, well-known global brand and we are thrilled to have Vodafone supporting both our teams in the WBBL and BBL.
“The Adelaide Strikers have the most passionate supporters in the competition and our young demographic is digital-savvy and connected to the Strikers.
“We can’t wait for the season to start.”
Vodafone’s Consumer Business Unit Director Ben McIntosh sees the partnership as a perfect alignment of brand and business values and a great opportunity to engage with fans in Adelaide.
“We’ve always had a passion for cricket and we’re thrilled to get back into such an iconic Australian sport, supporting the women’s and men’s competition with great enthusiasm,” McIntosh said.
“We have a stellar mobile network with a loyal customer base in South Australia – over the past three years we’ve invested more than $54 million in the state, completed up to 443 network enhancement activities to give residents even greater mobile coverage and choice.
“It’s an exciting time for Vodafone as we continue to disrupt the market with products and offers that give customers much needed freedom. We look forward to a cracking summer of cricket with the Adelaide Strikers and their fans.”
The Strikers open Rebel WBBL|03 with games against Hobart Hurricanes at Glenelg’s Gliderol Stadium on 9-10 December.
Then the KFC BBL|07 season starts for the Adelaide Strikers on 22 December, against Sydney Thunder at Adelaide Oval.
