Unchanged squad for second Stars clash

07 January 2018

The Adelaide Strikers have named an unchanged 13-player squad for their second rebel WBBL|03 clash against the Melbourne Stars, this time at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday.

Following a 22-run win over the Stars on Friday at Casey Fields in Victoria, the squad, which includes potential debutante Ellie Falconer, will remain the same.

Head coach Andrea McCauley hopes that Friday’s victory will kick-start the winning momentum the Strikers need for the remainder of their campaign.

“Obviously I am so pleased with the win after three consecutive losses, but this competition moves so fast that it’s important to continue to look at what’s next,” McCauley said.

“The coaching staff and leadership group are happy with the squad we have in place at the moment and feel that it’s the best group to take on the Stars again.”

The Strikers are sitting in third place halfway through the tournament, with seven matches remaining, while the Stars are currently ranked seventh.

After just their second win for the tournament on Saturday against the Melbourne Renegades, the Stars will be looking to continue their winning momentum.

The Strikers will play the Stars at Adelaide Oval from 2:20pm local time on Tuesday, as part of a KFC BBL double-header. The match can be streamed live on cricket.com.au or at mamamia.com.au.
