Strikers soar to new home attendance record

16 February 2018

Strikers fans continue to prove they're the best in the league, with Adelaide setting a new attendance record for home matches in KFC BBL|07.

A total of 246,779 fans flocked to Strikers home matches during the summer, including the club’s two finals, as Adelaide stormed to its maiden Big Bash title.

The figure surpassed the previous home attendance record of 241,790 set by the Melbourne Stars in BBL|05.

Three of the Strikers’ four regular season matches at Adelaide Oval surpassed the 40,000-mark. Adelaide’s thrilling New Year’s Eve victory over the Brisbane Heat attracted the second-best crowd of the regular season (46,594) behind only the Melbourne derby between the Stars and Renegades (48,986) at the MCG.

The Strikers also welcomed their one millionth fan through the gates at Adelaide Oval since the club’s inception.

A total of 1,143,763 people attended the expanded BBL|07, marking an 8.5% increase since last summer and the third season in a row to exceed one million fans.
