Siddle sidelined for Adelaide Oval Stars clash

10 January 2021

Siddle will miss Monday night's game

Adelaide Strikers fast bowler Peter Siddle will not feature against the Melbourne Stars at Adelaide Oval on Monday after scans revealed a thumb fracture.

Siddle injured his left thumb in what was a nasty blow off a Jake Fraser-McGurk straight drive in the match against the Melbourne Renegades on Friday night.

The 36-year-old remained on the field and bowled the final over, yet the best course of action is for him to miss Monday’s game.

With a five-day break before the return Stars fixture at the MCG, it is hopeful that Siddle will again be available for selection.

Travis Head and Michael Neser remain with the Australian Men's Cricket Team in Sydney.

Play begins at 6:45pm (ACDT) on Monday, and the final XI and X-Factor substitutes will be announced at the pre-game bat-flip.

The match is Rashid Khan’s last match of KFC BBL|10 as he soon departs for Afghanistan’s ODI series against Ireland.
