Siddle added to T20I squad

18 October 2018

Adelaide Strikers bowler Peter Siddle

Strikers seamer Peter Siddle could feature in his first T20I match in almost eight years after being included in Australia’s squad for the upcoming three-match series against Pakistan.

Siddle joins Strikers teammates Alex Carey and Billy Stanlake in the squad as doubt surrounds the fitness of paceman Mitchell Starc, who is battling a hamstring complaint.

It continues a well-earned resurgence for Siddle on the international stage. The 33-year-old, who starred with three wickets in the BBL|07 final, was selected for his first Test in almost two years earlier this month and is in line to feature in just his third T20I.

Siddle finished his first season as a Striker with 11 wickets and had an economy of 5.94 - the best of any seamer to bowl more than four overs. He also delivered two maidens in BBL|07 – a rare feat in modern T20 cricket.

Australia’s first T20I fixture against Pakistan begins at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on 24 October.
