Three Strikers have been named in Ricky Ponting's best XI of KFC BBL|07.

The former Australian captain selected Strikers spin wizard Rashid Khan, wicketkeeper/batsman Alex Carey and fast bowler Billy Stanlake in his team of the tournament.

Rashid, 19, has taken the competition by storm this summer.

The lethal leg-spinner, who played his last game of BBL|07 in Friday night’s semi-final victory over the Renegades, finished as the series’ leading wicket-taker with 18 scalps. Rashid’s economy rate of 5.65 was also the best of any player to bowl more than four overs.

The Afghan took at least one wicket in all-but one match in a memorable debut BBL season.

Athletic wicketkeeper Alex Carey was a revelation with the bat and behind the stumps for the Strikers.

He blasted his maiden BBL century in a match-winning display against Hobart and finished as the tournament’s second-biggest runscorer (425) behind only Hurricane D’Arcy Short (504). Carey’s run haul was the best by a Striker in any BBL season.

The 26-year-old also led the competition for dismissals by a wicketkeeper with 12 catches from his 10 matches.

Strikers paceman Billy Stanlake produced his best Big Bash summer to date.

The towering quick notched 11 wickets from his 10 matches and maintained a tidy economy rate of 6.47. Stanlake regularly breached the 150km/h mark throughout the series and was one of the most imposing bowlers of BBL|07 with his bounce, aggression and sheer pace.
