International batsman Colin Ingram will become interim captain of the Adelaide Strikers in place of Travis Head who is fulfilling his duties in the Gillette ODI series against England.
The South African has vast T20 experience and will co-captain county cricket side Glamorgan in England and Wales next season after a prolific white ball season for the side, totalling 1,026 runs and five centuries in 2017.
Ingram has found form with the bat in the Strikers' last few matches, top-scoring with 66 off 44 in Hobart, and a vital 48 from 31 in the win against the Sydney Thunder. He remained unbeaten in the Strikers' eight-wicket win against the Melbourne Stars.
Ingram will lead the Strikers in Alice Springs against the Perth Scorchers on Saturday.
