Head holds spot in Aussie Test side

09 January 2019

Strikers captain Travis Head is in Australia's Test squad to play Sri Lanka

Adelaide Strikers captain Travis Head has held his spot in Australia’s men’s Test squad for the two-match Domain Test Series against Sri Lanka.

Head, who will play his first BBL game of the season in Adelaide on Friday night, made his Test debut last October. The 25-year-old has played in Australia’s past six Test matches, scoring 359 runs in 11 innings at 32.63, with three 50s.

Veteran seamer Peter Siddle also retained his place in the 13-player squad. The 34-year-old Striker was not called upon during the series against India but remains a reliable and consistent option for selectors.

The squad will assemble on 19 January and the First Test starts in Brisbane on 24 January.

Strikers allrounder Michael Neser has been named in the Cricket Australia XI to take on Sri Lanka in Hobart, in a day-night, pink ball match from 17-19 January.
