Head leads two inclusions

08 February 2019

Strikers skipper Travis Head

Strikers skipper Travis Head is among two inclusions for the club’s final match of KFC BBL|08 against the Perth Scorchers on Saturday at Adelaide Oval.

The left-hand batsman returns for his third Big Bash outing of the summer alongside paceman Billy Stanlake, who has missed the Strikers’ last two matches.

Head resumes Big Bash action after scoring his maiden Test century in Australia’s series victory over Sri Lanka.

The 25-year-old struck a powerful 43 off 31 balls – including three consecutive sixes – in his last BBL match at Adelaide Oval during the Strikers’ win over the Melbourne Stars earlier in the season.

The Strikers and Scorchers will compete for the Jason Gillespie Trophy first introduced last summer at the inaugural Big Bash match in Alice Springs.

Both teams will wear special Indigenous-designed shirts to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island heritage and culture.

Fans will be welcomed onto Adelaide Oval to interact with the players after Saturday’s match to mark the end of the club’s BBL|08 campaign. Children under 18 receive free* entry.

The Strikers will finalise their playing XI at the bat flip prior to play.
