The pair is part of Australia’s Gillette T20 International Tri-Series squad, which will kick off the series against New Zealand on Saturday night, but both players will be released from national commitments on Sunday to feature in Adelaide’s maiden Big Bash final.
They will then link up with the Australian squad in Hobart on Monday ahead of Wednesday’s T20I clash with England at Blundstone Arena.
Head was a late addition to the Strikers’ squad for Friday night’s semi-final victory over the Melbourne Renegades.
The 24-year-old hit an unbeaten 85 and took 1/27 to be named Player of the Match in the thrilling one-run victory.
Carey has been one of the stars of the tournament in just his second season as a Striker.
The athletic wicketkeeper/batsman is second only to Hobart’s D’Arcy Short on the BBL|07 runscorers leaderboard with 425 runs. He also leads the tournament for dismissals by a ‘keeper with 12 catches from 10 matches.
Hurricane Short has also been cleared to play in Sunday’s decider.
The KFC BBL|07 Final begins at 4pm at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, 4 February.
