Doddridge is in her second contracted season as a Statewide Super SA Scorpion, making her senior State debut back in September.
She has been chosen in the XI for all four Women's National Cricket League matches so far this season, top-scoring for the Scorpions with 54 not out in their recent clash against Queensland.
Rebel WBBL|04 will be the 19-year-old’s first taste of Big Bash however, and the enthusiastic teenager is keen to get started.
“I’m really excited to just be involved and to be around the squad,” Doddridge said.
“I absolutely can’t wait to learn from people like Suzie (Bates) and Sophie (Devine) who I haven’t been able to spend much time with in the past.”
Doddridge, a top-order batter and medium-pace bowler, will add even further depth to an already solid lineup.
The Kensington Browns player has had a strong start to the Statewide Super First Grade Twenty20 competition with the bat, making scores of 39 and 40 not out in the first two matches.
Doddridge was shocked when she was offered a place in the Strikers squad earlier this month.
“I thought Max (head coach Andrea McCauley) was joking when she called me to offer me a contract - I just couldn’t believe it,” Doddridge said.
The Adelaide Strikers will open their WBBL|04 campaign against the Brisbane Heat at CitiPower Centre on Sunday 2 December. The match will be broadcast live and free on 7Mate from 10am ACST.
