Big Bash expands in new TV deal

13 April 2018

The Adelaide Strikers will be out to defend their KFC Big Bash title in a full home and away season in BBL|08 as part of Cricket Australia’s landmark six-year broadcast partnership with Fox Sports and the Seven network.

Adelaide will host six home matches at Adelaide Oval next summer as well as its second fixture in Alice Springs as part of the expanded season, which will feature 59 games in total including finals.

Seven will broadcast 43 KFC BBL matches as part of the new broadcast deal while Fox Sports will televise 16 matches exclusively and simulcast the remainder.

The number of BBL games shown on free-to-air television (43) remains the same as last summer.

Seven has also secured broadcast rights to 23 Rebel WBBL games next season as well as all men's Test matches and Commonwealth Bank women's internationals.

The deal represents the first time that all women's international matches are guaranteed to be shown on free-to-air television.

The Gillette men's one-day and T20 internationals will be shown exclusively on Fox Sports.
