Intro
Nathan Lyon was born in the cherry capital of Australia, Young, before moving to Canberra where he worked as a groundskeeper at Manuka to pay his way. He then moved on to work as a groundskeeper at Adelaide Oval and to play cricket.
Nathan turned out to be the big find of the first KFC Twenty20 Big Bash season – Nathan was bowling for his grade club one week working at Adelaide Oval full time to pulling on a Redbacks uniform for the KFC T20 Big Bash and on national television the week after. His drive and commitment paid him dividends when he became the competition’s leading wicket taker in his first season, collecting a handy 11 wicket from his 7 matches.
Not a fan of computer games, TV or movies, Nathan prefers to spend his time outdoors going to the beach, or water-skiing. He’s not much of a whizz in the kitchen, Nathan credit his skills at cooking 2 minute noodles as his specialty.
