    Adelaide Oval

Located in the heart of the city, Adelaide Oval has hosted cricket and football at the highest level since Colonial times and its iconic, historic and cultural presence remains today.

Adelaide Oval is home to international cricket in South Australia and the state’s elite squads, the West End Redbacks, Scorpions and now the Adelaide Strikers.

Address: Adelaide Oval, War Memorial Drive, North Adelaide South Australia, 5006.

    Website: www.cricketsa.com.au

The Oval is a central point between Adelaide’s parklands, the city and North Adelaide, and can accommodate close to 34,000. The Oval is divided into three main grandstands being the Bradman Stand, the Chappell Stands and the western grandstand which was opened to the public just before the Ashes tour in 2010.

The Oval’s distinctive Moreton Bay fig trees were planted in the 1890s and remain a historical backdrop to the northern mound, as does the Edwardian scoreboard which was erected in 1911.

With four flood lights, Adelaide Ovals playing dimensions are 169m x 129m fence to fence.
