Jake Weatherald

Weatherald’s meteoric rise to the big time can be attributed to his aggressive style of batting and display of confidence well beyond his years.

Selected in the West End Redbacks Sheffield Shield squad against NSW and making a half-century on debut, the young Northern Territory local only improved as the competition wore on.

He was one of the best performers for South Australia in the final against Victoria, scoring two half centuries in both innings and falling just shy of a well-deserved century in the second.

At just 21, Weatherald’s most recent showing of 141 from 104 balls against the Cricket Australia XI in the Matador Cup has thrust him into the spotlight as a future T20 star.
