Alex Carey

In 12 months, Carey has transformed from first-class hopeful into a West End Redbacks regular and a sensation to be for the Adelaide Strikers.

With an average of 90.2 for Glenelg and a high score of 195 against Adelaide Cricket Club, the wicketkeeper-batsman could no longer be ignored.

Opening at the top of the order with fellow Striker Jake Weatherald during the Matador Cup, he top-scored against Western Australia with 75 before a blistering 43 set the platform for an emphatic victory over NSW.

The left-hander is a text book cricketer who knows how to find the boundaries, and will add considerable depth as the Strikers search for their first BBL title.
