The West End Redbacks captain – now on tour with the Australian one-day and T20 squads in India – recently finalised a new deal to continue with the Strikers.
Quick Single: Afghan spin wiz Rashid Khan joins the Strikers
“I love playing here at Adelaide Oval with the Strikers, it’s a huge buzz with the massive crowds and all the noise,” Head said.
“I'm really excited for a bigger BBL and I can't wait to again play in front of the best fans in the competition at one of the best ovals in the world.
“We’ve picked up some good recruits. Our two new internationals are world-class.
“I'm really looking forward to getting out in the middle with Colin Ingram, another left-hander, and making some runs together.
“And I've heard nothing but good things about (leg-spinner) Rashid Khan … he is already performing so well in other T20 competitions."
Head, 23, made his BBL debut for the Strikers in the 2012-13 season and has now played 26 games, highlighted by an unbeaten, match-winning 101 on New Year’s Eve, 2015.
Leg-spinner Liam O’Connor will also be back with the Adelaide Strikers this summer.
O’Connor was a late addition to the Strikers’ squad last season to help cover for injuries but the Western Australian played seven of the eight games, highlighted by taking 2/12 in the New Year’s Eve game at Adelaide Oval.
The Strikers open BBL|07 at Adelaide Oval against Sydney Thunder on Friday 22 December.
Current Strikers squad: Alex Carey, Jono Dean, Travis Head, Colin Ingram, Rashid Khan, Ben Laughlin, Jake Lehmann, Michael Neser, Liam O’Connor, Peter Siddle, Billy Stanlake, Jake Weatherald, Jono Wells.
