Strikers game day experience nominated for award

The Adelaide Strikers have been shortlisted as a finalist for Australian sport’s best fan engagement strategy in the inaugural Mumbrella Sports Marketing Awards.

Adelaide Oval’s Big Bash League game day experience has again been recognised after the Strikers’ nomination highlighted the new Blue Crew Membership and the exciting build-up to the entrance of the players before the start of the game.

Engaging the assistance of a traditional Adelaide-based Indian supporters group to cheer the Strikers led to the creation of the Blue Crew two years ago and the next step was a dedicated membership, allowing fans to sit in the Blue Crew bay at home games.

The player entrance is a key part of the home game experience, with a mix of video, audio, fireworks and on-field action building hype and excitement within the stadium and capturing the attention of the fans ahead of the start of the game.

Security guard does it again! 

The Strikers’ response to a catch taken by a security guard seated inside the fence was also part of the nomination.

Winners of the sports marketing awards will be announced on June 21.
