How the Strikers can still make the finals

14 January 2017

The Strikers haven’t had things go quite there way in BBL|06, but in an eight-team competition with four finals spots on offer, nothing is out of the question with two rounds still left to play.

It’s also worth remembering that last year’s champions, the Sydney Thunder, snuck into the finals with just four wins at the end of the regular season – a record which the Strikers can still achieve with two wins from their last two matches.

With two wins on the board from six matches and a relatively poor net run rate of -0.157, the Strikers will likely be relying on two big wins against the Renegades and the Thunder, as well as other results to go their way in order to make a third consecutive finals appearance.

Here’s what we need to happen…

Sixers v Thunder (14/1)

Who we want to win: Sixers

Scorchers v Stars (14/1)

Who we want to win: Scorchers

Stars v Heat (17/1)

Who we want to win: Heat

Heat v Renegades (20/1)

Who we want to win: Heat

Hurricanes v Scorchers (21/1)

Who we want to win: Scorchers

Stars v Sixers (21/1)

Who we want to win: Sixers

The BBL ladder as of 5.00pm on 14/1

*N.B - the above scenarios is the most likely way for the Strikers to make finals, not necessarily the only way.

** Probably the only way though.
