The Adelaide Strikers can confirm that overseas player, Pakistan spinner, Saeed Ajmal, has been made unavailable by the Pakistan Cricket Board for game eight against the Perth Scorchers.

Director of Cricket, Jamie Cox said, “Should the Strikers qualify for the semi-finals, we will continue to work on his availability for the next stage of the competition.”

The KFC T20 Big Bash League Technical Committee this morning has approved a change to the Adelaide Strikers squad.

James Smith has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament with a right hip injury and has been replaced by Travis Head.

Head, 18, is an aggressive left-handed batsman and has played six Bupa Sheffield Shield matches this season with the West End Redbacks, including scores of 95 not out, 75 and 66.

Head was also a member of Australia’s U19 team that reached the final of this year’s World Cup against India.
