Adelaide Strikers’ superstar West Indian recruit, Kieron Pollard, has arrived in Adelaide.
Pollard’s arrival comes less than 48 hours after featuring in the West Indies' T20 win against Bangladesh at Mirpur, belting two sixes in a quick-fire 15 from nine balls.
After suffering a hamstring injury that kept him out of the KFC T20 Big Bash League last season, ‘Polly’ is excited to be back in Adelaide and ready to make his debut for the Strikers.
“I’m looking forward to it and obviously the guys won the first game so I’m looking forward to joining a winning team and continuing the momentum,” said Pollard.
Often overshadowed by his powerful hitting, Pollard’s all-rounder status is likely to feature throughout the tournament.
“It’s just a matter of doing what is required for the team, whatever the situation is, whether it is bowling in a crisis or batting in a situation to try and win the game, I will try and do my best as I always do,” said Polly.
Polly is likely to play his first game for the Strikers on Thursday night against the Brisbane Heat in a game that promises plenty.
